What do AHAs & fruit acids do?
AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) and fruit acids are water-soluble actives that work mainly on the skin's surface. They support the natural shedding of dead surface cells, which can make the skin look smoother and more radiant. Glycolic acid tends to be more intensive, while lactic and mandelic acid are considered milder and are often a good choice for a gentler introduction. Fruit acids are frequently chosen when the complexion looks tired, the texture is uneven or an uneven skin tone is visible. Important: acids make the skin more sensitive to the sun, so daily sun protection is an essential part of the routine.
How to use fruit acids in your routine
Start with a lower concentration and a lower frequency, for example once or twice a week, and increase slowly once your skin has adjusted. Apply fruit acid serums or exfoliating masks preferably in the evening, and avoid combining several strong actives at once. If an uneven tone or pigment spots are the main concern, the Pigment Spots collection may be a helpful addition. After use, follow with calming hydration and keep wearing SPF during the day.
